My Re-Cap or the Reunion for my "On-Line" Shipmates.

What can we say, but THANK YOU to everyone who attending the reunion in Reno, Mary Lou and I had a blast.  Your generosity and your kind words are greatly appreciated.  I just wish I could have found the words to express myself while standing in front of the group, but that was not to be.  I hope my deeds made up for my lack of words.  It was deeply emotional experience just seeing everyone, and witnessing how well our planning  paid off.  It was all of you who made the reunion the success that it was.  You should all take a bow for following through with your plans to attend.  I know that some had very difficult personal and financial circumstances to overcome, but you made the trip in spite of them.  That demonstrated the importance we both put on this special occasion.  The personal touches added by Denver McCune and Terry Klausen are particularly memorable.

Next year will be better.

Respect and appreciation,

Paul & Mary Lou

A couple of notes if you don't mind.

Bob Casey SO2(SS) 53-55, who performed a fantastic job for all of us, has a few copies of the photo he made of his "Sea Robin Returning to Port" painting (see picture below).  Those of you in Reno who saw this item know how nice it is.  If anyone wishing to get a signed copy, please email Bob and he will get one out to you  They are priced at $12/ea.  Let's show our support to Bob for a great job.

Bob is also slated to enter the hospital on 22 Oct for hip replacement surgery.  We wish him the greatest success and know he will get around much better following rehab.  We look forward to seeing him soon and can't wait to assign some new projects for our next reunion.

Update...(11/11/99) I talked to Bob recently and have swapped several emails.  He's been home about 2 weeks now, has a re-hab therapist that is getting him back in shape way ahead of schedule.  Things are looking good!!

Ed Rabbitt RM1(SS) 61-63, who volunteered to make sure we were dressed appropriately for this event is still available to take orders at any time for those that need new or additional items.  Just email him and he and Tammy can set you up.

NOTE: All checks for clothing items should be made out to: USS Sea Robin SS407 Association.

Ed spent a lot of time gathering orders, making sure that you received what you wanted,  and personally handled all the deliveries.  I was remiss when I did not publicly acknowledge his contributions to the our success of this reunion while I was at the podium on Friday evening.  A regrettably oversight I assure you,  and one that I personally apologized to Ed for afterwards.  I want everyone to know how hard Ed and his daughter Tammy worked.  Thank You both!

The attendance of Paul C. Stimson, Jr.  at our reunion was special, I think you will agree.  I thank him for making the trip and sharing his memorabilia with us.  I'm certain he enjoyed meeting shipmates of his late father and sharing a meal with them.  I know they were moved by meeting him and also sharing some experiences with Paul.

My gratitude is extended to Denver McCune for his fine talk.  It was well received and brought back many memories of why we consider ourselves the best.

Denny Craw TM3(SS) 62-65, and Mike Siver Tm3(SS) 63-67 had the foresight and concern to bring along their slides and a projector to share with us at the banquet.  I know we all enjoyed seeing them.  Thank You both!

There were some very generous shipmates both at the reunion as well as some who knew they could not attend.  These shipmates sent money so they could be a part of and added support to our gathering. Some shipmates contributed when a hat was passed at the banquet. Others contributed monetarily more than was initially asked for.  Shipmates do things like that.   You  know who you are.

Thank You All!!

We still have some reunion patches available if you did not get one.  When they are gone, no more will be produced.  Click here to see one   .
